"A wise, accessible and practical guide to a profoundly important subject. Here is an approach to forgiveness that is deeply grounded in Scripture and road-tested at the extremities of human experience, among the survivors of genocide. They show us that forgiveness may be hard work, but it is never too hard where it locks into divine power". Dr Chris Marshall, Religious Studies Programme, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand PS. Thanks for putting so much effort to creating this resource. May it become a vehicle of healing and renewal all over the world. ..................................................................................................... I was in attendance at church on Sunday morning when you delivered your sermon on Forgiveness. I found it to be one of the most encouraging and enlightening message I have heard in a long long time. It certainly turned a light on for me on this subject after sitting under teaching on the subject for many years. I have been involved in the church all my life and have seen many people treated badly in a variety of ways and always struggled when the answer has simply been to turn the other cheek. I am a teacher in a large public school and often felt that some times the programs offered to resolve conflict and deal with difficult people etc were far more effective than what Christians offered. However I always knew that God would have the best solution. Your two hands of forgiveness, with the left hand letting go and the right hand setting boundaries to limit how other people use their power to hurt us, clearly has far reaching implications for people who are hurt and abused and even for how we operate in the church. There are many situations I find in churches where peace making is required and I certainly agree it is easy to find peace lovers but not peacemakers. If we could take your message seriously about telling people they are forgiven but they were wrong and need to change, surely this could change churches immensely. Please keep up the good work and I will certainly be teaching my children a new way of looking at forgiveness. Thank you. From a concerned mother. ..................................................................................................... I read once that 'forgiveness is a choice'. The DVD Choices on the way to peace will be of immense help to people struggling to make that choice, and also to pastoral workers, counsellors and spiritual directors whose task is to support others in their choice. I found I identified easily and often with the practical, wise approach to forgiveness presented in this DVD. Brian Gallagher MSC, Catholic Priest, Spiritual Director, Retreat Giver, Educator.
